What is VAMS? VAMS, or Vaccine Administration Management System is an Internet based application that supports COVID-19 vaccination clinics. This system allows the Department of Health to manage and streamline the vaccination process effectively, through a friendly interface for people wanting Covid-19 vaccines.

Each person using VAMS is required to have their own individual email account. If you do not have an individual email account or cannot remember your email information, you can create a new email account.

    Instructions Summary:

  • • Each person who makes a COVID vaccination appointment must have an individual email account.
  • • If you don't have an individual email, you can create a new email account.
  • • If you can't remember your email account, we recommend you create a new individual email account.

    Creating Gmail Email Account:

  • • Open your web browser
  • • In the browser address bar, type in "Gmail.com" and press enter
  • • Click "Create Account"
  • • Type in your information for the email account
  • • Note that your username and password can be anything as long it is not taken
  • WRITE DOWN YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD SO YOU DON'T LOSE IT
  • • Click "Show Password" to make sure the "Password" and "Confirm Password" are the same.
  • • Click "Next", taking you to the next page.
  • • Providing a Phone number and different recovery email address are optional.
  • • After you fill in the rest of the information (birthday and gender), click "Next"
  • • Scroll down on the terms of services and click "I Agree"
  • • Your gmail account is now created. To write an email, click "Compose" in the top left

    Check Email for VAMS Invitation:

  • Step 1: Within 24 hours, after registering, you will receive an email from VAMS.
  • Step 2: The email you will receive from VAMS will prompt the completion of registration.
  • Step 3: The email you will receive from VAMS will be from (noreply@envelope.mail.vams.cdc.gov).
  • Step 4: The email you will receive from VAMS will have a subject line like the quote below.
  • Step 5: Subject Line: "Please register in VAMS to schedule an appointment"

Checking Gmail Instructions:

    Checking Gmail Account:

  • • To check your Gmail email account, open your web browser and in the search bar type "Gmail.com".
  • • Type in your USERNAME and PASSWORD that you saved from setting up your account.
  • • Press enter and login to your Gmail after adding your USERNAME and PASSWORD.
  • • Once logged in, you will see an email from (no-reply@envelope.mail.vams.cdc.gov).
  • • The email will appear within 12-48 hours after completion of your VAMS registration form.
  • • You will also receive a pre-registration email from (noreply-dphsubmissions@ct.gov), ignore this email.
  • • This first email's subject line should be "Please register to schedule an appointment"
  • • Click on this email and follow the instructions. This should take you back to the VAMS registration site
  • • This email is the first of 3 emails (see notes below).
  • • Additionally,

  • THINGS TO NOTE:

  • • There will be a total of 3 emails from VAMS.
  • • You may receive an optional email from (no-reply@mail.vams.cdc.gov).
  • • This email you will receive will require no action, so you can either ignore or delete it.
  • • Invitation with the subject line "Please register to schedule an appointment".
  • • Another approved email may come from (no-reply@mail.vams.cdc.gov)
  • • Authentication email with the subject line "Authentication code".
  • • This email will come from "noreply@envelope.mail.vams.cdc.gov"
  • • Subject line: "Vaccination Appointment Confirmation"
  • • This email will come from "noreply@envelope.mail.vams.cdc.gov"
  • • Extra Note: Subsequent notifications from the DPH may come from "noreply@everbridge.net"

(Gather the following info before you begin registering in VAMS.)

    Personal Information:

  • • Date of birth (DOB)
  • • Race and ethnicity
  • • Home address
  • • Cell phone number
  • • Preferred method of contact

  • Medical History:

  • • Any known allergies or existing conditions
  • • Any current medications (optional)
  • • Any other relevant medical information (optional)

Pre-Registration for VAMS with CT Dept. Health

Go to Online VAMS Enrollment for Eligible Individuals:


    Follow The Steps Below:

  • • (To make an appointment you MUST register in VAMS first.)
  • • The registration process is through the CT Dept of Public Health VAMS system.
  • • Click on the button below to Pre-Register with CT Dept of Public Health.
  • • Pre-Registering is required before registering in VAMS and scheduling a Vaccination Appointment.

  • • Check that you properly entered your Email-Account on the CT Department of Public Health Pre-Registration form.
  • • If your email has not been entered in the Pre-Registration form you must go fill that out before proceeding below.
  • • If you completed the previous step look for an Email from "noreply@envelope.mail.vams.cdc.gov" with a Subject-Line of "Please register to schedule an appointment".
  • • In the main text or body of that Email from "noreply@envelope.mail.vams.cdc.gov", click the blue link to complete your registration in VAMS.
  • • You will be prompted to select your state, being the state of Connecticut and County Name where you live.
  • • You can follow the steps in the VAMS Registration and Verification guide by viewing the documents below.

    Follow Step Below to Reschedule:

  • • Find your confirmation email from (no-reply@mail.vams.cdc.gov)
  • • Subject-Line of "Vaccination appointment confirmation"
  • • Click the confirmation email and find the cancel appointment blue link.
  • • Click on the blue link to re-enter your VAMS Account to cancel appointment.
  • • To reschedule follow the same steps you would do to normally schedule a vaccine appointment (above).

  • • Wait 3-4 weeks depending on the vaccine you receive for your second dose.
  • • The second dose will increase effectiveness from 40% to 95%.

  • • Which will ensure long-term protection against the virus.

  • • Decreases likelihood of new severe variants/strains emerging.
